The Golden Bowler, Stubbington

I work in the area and had the wife and child down to visit and have a break. After arriving on the Saturday we were hungry and observed the pubs sign, 'Real Chefs, Real Chips, Real Food', so we pulled in. We ordered drinks then food. some 'real chips' a couple of freshly cooked meat filled baguettes and a tuna fish sandwich for the bairn. Oh my god! The tuna was like tiny shreds of dark brown wood and stunk. Even my son shouted out that he wasn't eating it. The chips were out the freezer and dripping oil. The baguettes were uncooked with a cold layer of lard on the bottom, the wife's was sodden with fat and tomato juice. The meat inside them was rank. Needless to say it did not get eaten and the staff did their utmost to avoid the table as they could see we weren't impressed. Looking at the other food coming out the kitchen, it wasn't any better. It was that bad that it drove me to join a site like this to warn other people not to waste their hard earned cash on eating at that pub. Avoid like the plague. Oh we got �4 back for the tuna sandwich after confrontation!!!! I give the pub a 1 rating because my pint of Fosters was OK!
