The Stag's Head, Offchurch

Visited 17/05/09 for Sunday lunch. There were 4 in our party & 2 meals were unacceptable - Roast potatoes were so overcooked that it was bearly possible to cut them. They were dark brown with virtually no soft potato in the middle. We were asked if we wanted the roast beef pink to which we said yes. It was however not pink & tasted & looked processed (uniform thickness). Gravy had the most peculiar bitter flavour (no meat flavour), as if it was just several Oxo cubes dissolved in hot water. The poussin looked nothing like any poussin I have seen before - It was not a complete little bird but random chicken pieces, some of which were overcooked & some undercooked. The vegetables were very unadventurous -peas & carrots that tasted like tinned carrots.
We sent the 2 meals back the first time & although some potatoes were replaced the rest of these 2 meals was still not acceptable.
The other 2 meals were sausage & mash - very ordinary tasting for �9 and a fishcake which did have some taste, but again quite expensive at �9.
The lady we complained to was not interested in what we had to say - dismissive & contradictory. We were only able to get one meal taken off the bill. We had to pay �38. We have enjoyed better meals at Wutherspoons. Never Again!
