Railway Inn, Upper Killay

Flagship pub for real ale in Swansea West. Proper pub atmosphere with 3 different bars and convenient for walks in the Clyne Valley. Front bar a cosy classic populated by some interesting characters from the area and you can easily strike up a conversation most evenings. One gripe is that the pub does not stock a good lager. I know real ale puritans dismiss lager drinkers but lager, like cider, stout and the rest all need to be represented at least in bottle form.

The Reverend James, Lougher

Expensive for the area and not always the most sociable of pubs. Clean and reliable though for a stop off after visiting Loughor foreshore
