Retired.
Our (me, my wife and the dog) preference is lunchtime visits to traditional, dog friendly, country pubs serving good quality, reasonably priced, food.
My taste in beers is fairly eclectic but does include the occasional real ale!!)

Ship Inn, Mevagissey

We regularly use this pub for our lunchime meals whenever we visit Mevagissey, and much prefer it to the Fountain Inn which we have also tried.
Friendly staff and a good selection of reasonably priced food.
If you like bread and butter pudding I recommend the one they serve here - it was one of the best I have ever tried - just hope it's on the menu when we next visit!!

The Cobweb Inn, Boscastle

Last visited this pub for lunch in mid April. (We have been there a number of times over the past few years during our frequent visits to Cornwall).
Regret to say that, in our opinion, the standard has declined over the past few months. I used to enjoy their first-class "Cobweb pizza", now sadly discontinued, and my wife always appreciated their freshly grilled fish.
On our last visit I ordered ham, egg & chips and my wife a half-chicken salad (no suitable fish available). Mine was cold (not just the ham) primarily due to being served on a very cold plate, and my wife's chicked had been so overcooked it was dried out and stringy - good only for my wife's diet and the dog!!!
Re. tracynoe's comment - the "grumpy old git" is still there 18 months later, although I think the description is perhaps just a wee bit harsh ;).
We'll probably give it one more go - just in case it was an off day - and hopefully the decline will have been reversed.
