This is one of my favourite pubs in the entire UK. It's a proper community pub and a real ale drinkers heaven. But above all it has character in abundance. 10/10.

Couldn't agree at all with the previous comment 9 of us turned up out of the blue, and nothing was too much trouble, we even had two dogs with us, beer, wine and cider enjoyed by all, food by far the best in Boscastle, staff friendly and professional would recommend this pub to anyone visiting Boscastle or surrounding area well worth the visit and cant wait to pop in again

I am in a quandary over this place. On one hand the pub itself is quirky, dark and full of bric-a-brac and has a reasonable atmosphere. The beers are well kept and not ridiculously priced. I had Tintagel brewery's Harbour Special and very nice it was too. On the other hand my family decided to eat and the presentation and quality of the grub was awful, particularly as it cost us over fifty pounds. On the whole I'd say if its food your after make the trek up the hill to the Napoleon Inn but if you just want a snifter this place is okay.

Yes this is very much a locals pub, but the service was friendly enough and the scampi was good, as was the Rattler. Check out the price list from 1971 framed on the wall and marvel at beer being 10p a pint!

This is a pub you'll either love or hate right from the start. It is indeed dark inside and filled to bursting with artefacts and oddities. However it appears to be well kept, toilets were a little old but clean, and the roaring log fires in both bars when we visited in late November were most welcome. Several ales are available including St Austell Tribute and Sharp's Doom Bar, as well as some from local craft breweries. All appeared to be well kept, the Doom Bar in particular going down a treat. The Cobweb seems to be the 'local's pub' in Boscastle, and some of said characters are could indeed be percieved as being a little inhospitable - just ignore them and they shut up, I've found. We didn't try the food so can't really comment on that, except to say it certainly looked and smelt nice.
