The Saucy Kettle, Surbiton

I call in to the Saucy Kettle around once a fortnight on my way home from work to have a few pints and catch whatever football match is showing on Sky. Other than a crowd of regulars sitting around the bar, I normally seem to have the back room virtually to myself, unless it's a particularly big match. On a purely personal level, the lager & cider is absolutely top drawer, ice cold and always in the correct designer glass and I find all the bar staff very friendly and efficient.

Looking at things more objectively though, there seems to be a huge amount of untapped potential in this place - I assume they do really well on Fri & Sat nights but there's pots of young money to be spent in Surbiton so why doesn't The Saucy Kettle seem to grab even the smallest slice of the action during the week ? I can only speak as I find, which is wholly favourable, but judging from the many negative comments posted on this site, I think the management must be absolutely crazy not to take a long hard look at what might be going wrong here - I'm afraid any business ( pub or otherwise ) that aims to be successful can't just conveniently ignore what their customers tell them - and even if they choose not to take notice of the kind of comments posted on this site, a practically empty bar most nights of the week should perhaps be telling them quite a lot of important things anyway - as Mark Twain famously once put it, " don't make the mistake of assuming the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing - it was here first !!! "
