Went in last week just before the Chelski Liverpool game. Much, much nicer than I remember and the bar staff were good natured. Usually go to a traditional Youngs or Fullers type pub but would certainly go again, infact I am going again next Tuesday. topcat455 - 8 May 2008 17:25
Went to the Saucy for the first time last night. Fantastic. Really friendly staff on the door (Bill...he's a legend!!) and on the bar, good lively music for a bit of a boogie. Will definitely be back!! cinders21 - 27 Apr 2008 19:05
On a small beerhunt I dropped in, generally preferring "trad" pubs, but was pleasantly surprised. Helpful and knowledgeable barman...food looked excellent and would have ordered had the kitchen not just closed (7.30?). Beck's was very good for what it is but the Lowenbrau had seen better days...all in all a jolly bar with plenty of sports screens if that's your bag. Licensee who was friendly is also the chef, I believe, so that might explain the kitchen situation. Insearchofthebestpint - 7 Apr 2008 15:19
Very pleasantly surprised when we popped in here for a quick pint on the weekend. I had always avoided the Saucy Kettle, as it meant straying a bit too close to the YMCA. Once in, I actually really enjoyed it. It was busy (not TOO busy), and served a nice selection of lagers, probably more than anywhere else in the local area. Everyone seemed friendly enough, and the decor is fine. Outside seating is a bit hopeful, given it is on the main road and opposite the YMCA. anonymous - 26 Jul 2007 18:00
Not a bad pub with lots of good lagers, it is a pity the landlord is a miserable moaning sod... Get rid of the neon american crap and the landlord and this may be the best pub in surbiton. anonymous - 19 Jun 2007 17:27
