Urquell, in case it had completely gone over your head this is a REVIEW site, therefore, I have given my REVIEW. You either clearly need to get out and about and experience new pubs - or you're related to the miserable landlord!! As for being more adventurous - I'm glad we didn't "risk" anything more adventurous if they can't even get a baguette & jacket potato right!!!

The Plough Inn, Horsell

I went to this pub today for lunch for the first time after reading good reviews about it. I have to say after having high hopes for this pub - good selection of guest ales, homemade food etc - both myself and my husband were thoroughly disappointed! We went on a Wednesday lunch time and, including myself and husband, there were only about 4 people in the pub. We ordered a jacket potatto with chilli and a BLT baguette - really not a difficlt order especially bearing in mind how quiet the pub was! The jacket potato was OK but the baguette had magicly become a sandwich. We accepted the fact that it could have just been human error, but when my husband started to eat it, it went from bad to worse!! The bread was soggy and wet, there was no L in the BLT ie it was a bacon and tomoto sandwich with lettuce on the side! and the crisps that were supposed to on the side was actually a very undercooked new potato!!! To make matters worse we went to pay and the landlord quite happily took our money without even so much as a "was everything OK?" or "how was your meal?" Clearly they knew exactly what we were going to say!!! To summarise:- good selection of beers, but below average food and and grumpy old misery gut for a landlord who had no people skills!!!!
