The ONLY good thing about this pub is, or rather was, the brilliant Tuesday quiz hosted by a right comedian (in a good way). I've just heard they are scrapping it for a bingo night. This quiz has been going for over 20 years and was very popular, but we all got the feeling the landlord would rather dumb the place down still further. Avoid at all costs.

In line with the positive comments I have to recommend the Thursday night quiz. As a quiz obsessive myself, I have to say this is possibly the best in London (at least on a par with the legendary Kings Arms on Tooley Street).

The quiz master has even been known to sing the advertising jingle round when the speakers broke down. He's like a cross between Jeremy Paxman and Eddie Izzard. better still the questions are really varied and all seem to be properly researched. A real antidote to the off-the-web jobs that seem depressingly common.

It's a friendly crowd too.

Traders, Clapham

It's now called Traders and a cross between a Chinese restaurant and British pub.

It's the sister of the Drunken Monkey near Bishopsgate in the city of London.

So, no more pub quiz or Karaoke, but a late license.
