The Academy, Holland Park

By number of steps, this is the closest pub to my flat, and I feel as if I'm extremely fortunate that this is so. The staff are extremely friendly, the place has a very cosy, homey feel. The food is extremely good, and the prices are very low for gastropub quality in this area (neighbouring pubs either charge too much or have crap food). It's a great pub for a winter afternoon, as it's rarely crowded and you can lord over the place or sit by the fire. I can't recommend it enough.

The Station, North Kensington

Yes, it's a bit pricey, and the food is just OK. But you really can't argue with the massive -- MASSIVE -- beer garden, complete with sofas and many, many mushroom heaters. Summer was made for pubs like this.
