| Would love to give this bar full marks..... superb food friendly staff etc. Big shame that it seems to be frequented by lets say a, "riff raff" element. | By number of steps, this is the closest pub to my flat, and I feel as if I'm extremely fortunate that this is so. The staff are extremely friendly, the place has a very cosy, homey feel. The food is extremely good, and the prices are very low for gastropub quality in this area (neighbouring pubs either charge too much or have crap food). It's a great pub for a winter afternoon, as it's rarely crowded and you can lord over the place or sit by the fire. I can't recommend it enough. alevy - 2 Apr 2007 14:57 |
| Doesn't anyone else on this site visit the Academy!? Well, two years on, it's time for a new review. I love this place now. Superb food, friendly staff, modern art on the walls and a fantastic wine list. There's only ale on tap, but it's always in perfect condition. Lovely little bar. | The Academy is the kind of trendy upmarket bar that only sells highly priced lager and coffee. Looks pleasant enough, if that's what you're looking for.
