The Cider Bar, Newton Abbot

I can't compare this place to any pub I have ever been in. Totally amazing - like stepping back in time into a long lost different world known only to grey haired guys with mutton chop sideburns.
An array of barrels filled with dangerous sounding ciders like black rat and suicider, augmented with a large collection of wines - parsnip anyone?
The locals and barstaff were welcoming and helpful, and the layout quirky and confusing.
Brilliant, just brilliant, and an instant entry into my all time top 10.

The Man of Kent Ale House, Rochester

I'm sure that every time I visit it is busier than the last - which goes to prove that a little word of mouth goes a long way. Tatty but homely, a majorly impressive selection of beers and a chilled out friendly atmosphere.
