Peels Arms, Padfield

The pub has great character and is obviously highly thought of within the area. As we entered the pub on a busy Friday evening everyone seemed to be lapping up the atmosphere.
We entered in the main bar to ask for a table and although it was busy we were asked to wait for a short while whilst a table was set for us in the dining room. Once seated, we were given menus and a special board, both of which exceed our expectations, but we had to endure a short wait for our order to be taken. It was apparent from here staffing was an issue. One waitress was serving what I would estimate as about 15 tables and one bar tender was serving drinks; the staff however were extremely convivial although it was clear to see the pressure. The chef was even making the odd appearance out of the kitchen to help with proceedings. Despite this our order was taken and the food arrived that was cooked and presented to perfection, our drinks were kept topped up and the food was ample. I can say we ate three courses of delightfully satisfying food. Recommending the creamy garlic mushrooms as a starter. To bring to a close my review on this pub I do recommend you giving it a visit, the food cannot be complained about in any way, a traditional country pub is exactly what you get and I will be making another visit very soon( I just hope for the sake of the staff there is more of them).
