| First came here in summer 2006. About 10 minutes walk from Hadfield Rail Station. Very impressed. The food was good and the menu excellent. Guest real ales, friendly staff, prompt service and reasonable prices. Have returned five or six times and the standard is consistant. Can getting very busy at weekend. | Step inside and you will find both locals and those from further afield and a cheery and welcoming atmosphere. Since the change of landlord and lady two years ago, this pub is now enjoying a considerable reputation for both well served real ale and food. This made a welcome change to all the locals whom had been enduring a cold atmosphere created by the previous couple whom had little idea how to run a pub. The car park, which used to be full of grotty old Novas, now features the occasional Bentley! At the time of writing this review The Peels is undergoing a sensitive and overdue refurbishment (new carpets and fittings). The writer has been assured that the essential character will be maintained. Reopening in early October.
