The George & Dragon, Westerham

My husband and i have tried a number of pubs for lunch in westerham, unfortunately today we went to the george and dragon. We asked where we could sit and order and 'steve' the manager told us there was a 30 minute wait, we said this was ok but were a bit taken aback by his unfriendly manner. We ordered a brie and ham club sandwich and fish and chips. Steve could not have been any more disinterested, bordering on rude. When the food was ready it was plonked infront of us without a word ( no offer of condiments or anything else) before he walked away. The club sandwich was three bits of thin white bread with boiled ham and a few lumps of brie covered in margarine, complete with a handmark on across the top where it had been pressed down. The fish and chips looked nice but the 'beer battered' cod was doughy and greasy and the chips were soggy. We called steve over and he told us thats what a club sandwich was like before walking away not waiting for a reply. We left our food and called the young waitress over for the bill who was very friendly and chatty unlike her manager. We left after paying for a disgusting meal along with disgusting customer service and will not be returning. Please save your money and go somewhere else, we certainly wish that we had.
