Crown and Horseshoes, Enfield

This pub recently came under new management. It used to be my favourite place to drink in Enfield and had a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff but it has recently gone down hill. The staff don't seem to notice who is next at the bar and this encourages people to queue jump, which can be annoying when you have been waiting more than ten minutes to be served and they are fond of having loud, intrusive conversations.

There is a good, varied menu but I was disappointed by the food both times I ate there recently. The first time I ordered a roast which took 45 minutes to arrive despite the fact the pub was relatively empty. When it did arrive the potatoes were hard and the chicken was quite tasteless. I really didn't feel it was worth almost a tenner. Also, I recently ordered a sandwich with chips and a drink as part of a meal deal but when it arrived without chips I was quite rudely told 'That sandwich isn't part of the deal' despite the fact it was the sandwich featured in the offer poster and they had taken payment for the offer! I wound up paying more than I would have had I ordered the sandwich and drink seperately.

This pub has one of the largest beer gardens in Enfield and it will be interesting to see how it fares over the summer months. I would love to see it get back on its feet as it is a lovely pub and it's faithful customers deserve better!
