The Bridge Inn, Shoreham by Sea

6 of us went there on 9th Jan for a Sunday afternoon lunch.
We normally meet for a carvery every month so this time we thought we would try something different. We booked a table and turned up on time, when we ordered we were told that the lamb was finished so ordered beef instead, 5 minutes later we were told that was gone so we all went for the only option left for roasts which was pork. When the food turned up the meat was dry and stale, the potatoes were black on one side and dry. Also we had 1 small bowl of green veg and 1 of carrots & spinage. I complained to the owner of the pub, she said they had run out of veg.... 2 bowls of steamed veg between 6 was a joke, there was only 4 small carrots between 6!! I made another complaint, the owner then admitted that she asked the chef if they were good to send out...? This did upset me as she had a chance to fix this.. She told me that she would sort out some nice deserts for us. These arrived and were good.

The bill then came, everything included, eventhough we were made to believe that we would be getting the deserts for free! The owner by then had dissappeared..

We did not really want a reduction, we wanted someone to understand that sending rubbish food out for a high price was not good enough, we expect any good restaurant to show an even basic level of service..

We were horrified by the quality of food and lack of service, we paid the bill and walked out. This place has gone right down hill, we wont be returning!
