The Cat Tavern, Salisbury
We had just returned from the Stonehenge bus excursion, we were tired cold, hungry and dripping wet. The Cat Tavern was the first pub we saw open. The bar maid was friendly, as well as the patrons. The furniture was well worn, but we were too. We found a comfy table near the radiator. The owners big old dog greeted us too. We had a good lunch, some cider, a few pints of ale, the service fine, all was good. The only minor issue is they did not take plastic, and we had little cash. There was no pressure, but I had to walk a bit before I found the Barclay's bank machine that would issue cash to my US credit card. All in all, this was a good time and I hope to visit the beautiful town again.
