Prepare to be roundly ignored by the bar staff if he does not know you... "Local dive for local people" by the looks of it.. If you have missed your train and are looking for sustinence you'd be better off getting some chips down the road than visiting this place. FLO - 12 Nov 2011 21:05
Not a bad pint of cider but a pretty rough clientele. Cheap rooms though and open all day for those who want a beer using the station. Chrisnutt - 7 Nov 2011 23:24
A 'spit and sawdust' basic, wet led boozer, this pub is normally friendly with a decent real ale or two on but most locals drink cider. however late at night some of the customers do get very pissed which can be a little intimidating... 6/10 SotonAleDrinker - 14 Jan 2011 20:42
Bit dubious when I first went in but to be honest, ignore the slightly tatty interior and this is a decent pub. Friendly Bar Maid and locals were also welcoming. Had 2 pints of Solstice bitter which weren't bad. Would definitely go back. N.Barber2 - 18 Dec 2010 21:50
Train was delayed so I had an hour to kill - not a lot of options close to the station, so Cat Tavern it was! A little on the scruffy side, with a 'feature' sofa that's perhaps seen better days. Bar maid was friendly and the locals were, well locals. Amused myself on their jukebox, which was well stocked with some good 70's classics. As for the main event, tried a pint of their 'Octoberbest', which wasn't exactly to my taste. Benson_Hedges - 5 Dec 2010 10:11
