The Elephant Hotel, Pangbourne

Although the interior decor is more hotel than pub I have always found the beer quality reliably good with West Berkshire brews and Butcombe on offer. The food, which I've only sampled once recently was ok too. It doesn't seem to get too busy and attracts all sorts.

Crosskeys, Wallingford

Visited on a quiet Saturday lunchtime when hot weather may have been keeping people in their gardens. Oxford Gold and Rye Smile both tasted excellent and the friendly host showed us round the lovely collection of characterful interconnecting but separate rooms. Must be full of atmosphere on a cold night with a good crowd in.

The Coachmakers Arms, Wallingford

Visited while camping nearby. Very nicely set out inside and very welcoming host. Beer was fine and the food excellent quality and value. The garden out the back could do with a little tittivation but is sheltered and probably a suntrap during the day. I was surprised it wasn't busier.
