The Queens Head Inn, Blyford

This was my worst eating experience in my sixty-one years.

I believe that the pub has recently changed hands.

Anyway cod, chips and peas is �10.95, which is �2-4 more than the surrounding pub prices. This would be fine if the food were as good or better. In the event the cod was tiny, half of it was just skin and batter (the flesh seemingly having been removed), and it was dry and overcooked.

At other places, the Wissett Plough and the Huntingfield Arms for example (I have no connection with either but have an interest in good food at sensible prices and a wish to justify the comments in this review), the fish is succulent and large and is, as already stated, on average �3 less.

BEWARE, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. It was my worst eating experience and left me feeling ripped off.

When I discussed the above with the landlord, he was immoveable. As far as he was concerned, everything was fine. There was no suggestion by him that the bill be reduced.

I advised him that I was local and that I would do my best to dissuade others from making the same mistake as myself. This was my prerogative according to the landlord, and so, for the first time ever on a website such as this, I am exercising it.

If you value you taste buds and have a regard for you wallet, DO NOT GO!
