The Port n' Ale, Tipton
'Under New Management' it says outside. Sadly, not for the better. I had the misfortune to visit the 'Port & Ale' last night with a couple of mates, all real ale drinkers. I had the most awful pint and, when I took it back, I was greeted with such indifference. I quote, "It must OK as we have sold a lot of it !". I intimated that we not be visiting again to which I got the reply, "You will not be missed".
Frankly, I was appalled.
It appears that this establishment wishes to appeal only to the 'Carling Club' or the beer bus crowd. It is loud, leery and, if you really like your real ale then stay away. That is what I intend to do
