The Orange Tree, Havering Atte Bower

i have just crawled up the hill and i wish i had seen the previous comments made, the beer was awful, stale and sour, and as for the price i thought it was a giant rip off, if that is all they have got to offer in this pub they can stick it where the sun don't shine

The Stand Up Inn, Lindfield

I took "apa"'s advice and visited this pub and what a great treat this was. set in a glorious village in Sussex near Haywards Heath, and serving ale at it's very best by the very friendly staff. i shall be definately be returning to this watering hole quite often. you should all go and see what your missing!!

The Blue Anchor, Helston

lovely looking pub on the outside, pity the insides looks like a disaster zone full of idiots and drunks no where decent to sit and relax, beer was awful but i suppose some are to drunk to care, mens toilet is certainly not up to even the lowest standards expected from a well advertised pub like this. barman is ok though

The Star Inn, Crowlas

on the A30 hayle to penzance road. a must for real ale buffs, owned by Pete Elvin, who was the head brewer for the Cotleigh brewery and his barman is also a brewer! all 5 h/pumps have guest ales food is delicious and plenty of it well worth a stop over in the b/b upstairs

The Seven Stars, Falmouth

i like this pub, its very friendly to all who enter not like most cornish pubs where the locals thinks your an alien from the foreign planet "england" and they would like nothing better if you left cornwall, but without the money from tourism what would they have-answer -nothing. perhaps the priest- cum -brewer can pray for there deliverence as he serves up his most excellent ale!!

The Fat Cat, Ipswich

this is a gem and a half! what a great pub all that you could ever want in a real ale establishment. the food is all made on the premises, and the huge scotch eggs are served with a mango chutney made by a customer, what more could you want. as for the 15-17 beers that are on tap (and most come straight from the barrel)they are served with a smile and a little conservation from the 'very well informed about beer 'staff. can get busy week-ends but always enough room to get to the bar.locals friendly and full of local knowlege. i will keep going and intend to ask all my friends to come along

The Last Post, Southend on Sea

weatherspoon's at it's worst, the pub stinks most of the time,thurs-sats it's full of rowdy drunks and to get to the bar is a work of art, staff are often ignorant and more interested in their looks than serving and know nothing about beer whatso ever. i have decided not to visit such a pub in future but to go to the cork and cheese in the plaza center cost more but you can get served and they have a fair selection of good beers on

The Viper, Mill Green

what a pub!! great beers, great staff and greater location. this pub has it all, if you can't get there by public transport(entails a walk through glorious woodland)get a taxi from ingatestone, very reasonable and better if a few of you go it works out cheaper

Moon On The Square, Basildon

a typical weatherspoon's but at least it is a non-smoking pub with quite a few of real ales on the go most times

The Evening Star, Brighton

this is a real real ale pub and not a lounge for yobs thank goodness. very friendly staff who KNOW their beer.we travel a long way to get to this pub but it is well worth the visit. be careful of the "critical mass" when they have it on, it's so good but deadly!!!
rest of beer is also excellent
