The Peacock, Tower Hill

Suggested by a friend - I'd walked past it hundreds of times and never thought about going in as it isn't the best from the outside. We weren't disappointed even though it was a miserable night. Susssex Best on which pleased the men greatly. I took the advice of other posters and asked the landlord if he knew of any good Indian Restaurants nearby. He gave me very detailed instructions to one of the best I'd ever been in and I've eaten in a few. Fantastic night all round.

The Garland, Redhill

As far as i'm concerned this pub is just about perfect. A choice of ales, many wines by the glass, food at lunchtime. The staff are amongst the friendliest in the are and make you feel very welcome whether or not you are a regular. My boyfriend has lived in the area but isn't very adventurous when it comes to visiting new pubs and can't decide if he's pleased to have found it at this later date or annoyed for all the lost time. Lovely sunny area out the back which I am looking forward to using extensively in the spring and summer.

Dog and Duck, Outwood

Still a lovely setting out in the garden next to the pond but agree with some of the comments about the food since the new management took over. I asked for a cheese salad which wasn't on the menu but was found on the till as everything else I wanted on the menu was off. It was the smallest salad I've ever seen - a tiny pile of cheese - good job I'd ordered chips as well! It came up on a side plate so only assume it was a side salad but nothing was said and as we didn't get an itemised bill I'll never know as it'll be a while before we eat there again.

Dog and Duck, Outwood

Massive menu, friendly staff and a lovely garden. On the negative side in the winter there are 2 sides to the pub - the cold smoke free side and the warm (open fire) smoke filled half. Roll on 1 July!

The Flying Scud, Redhill

I'm looking forward 1 July as most of the customers appear to smoke and the air is very smokey. Very friendly bar staff but agree with the previous comment about the wine!

The Joshua Tree, Redhill

Lively pub in the evenings. The bar area is quite small especially at the weekends when they change the tables from drinking to eating down the side of the bar. Good choice of beer and wine - although as previously stated at a price.

The Well House Inn, Mugswell

We've looked for this pub a couple of times but always turned back "it can't possibly be down here". Anyway, took a chance and are pleased we did. Had a lovely meal - the first time in ages I'd had to leave some of my meal in spite of it being very tasty and piled with fresh veg. The Landlord and Landlady couldn't have been any friendlier and my boyfriend delighted to find they had his favourite beer on. What more could you ask for! We'll be back soon.

The Elm Shades, Redhill

We are always made to feel welcome even though we only visit the pub a couple of times a month. Good old pub food at reasonable prices - something badly needed in the area.
