Royal Oak, Clevedon

Genuine local's pub situated in road running parallel behind the promenade. You wouldn't know it was there if you weren't from Clevedon...and maybe not even then for half the town's population. Good range of real ales, local "proper" cider, snacks if you're peckish and roaring log fires. Very friendly clientele, you will meet some real characters here....and if you sample too many pints of Thatchers the Landlord runs his own taxi to get you home!

Crab Apple Inn, Clevedon

Don't like it, never have. Full of narrow minded trashy types from the local estate. Low IQ, acne and tracksuit bottoms are the main dress code. Beer OK, food OK, staff OK but all sadly let down by location. Shame really, should never have built it here. Move it 1/2 mile further down the main road and it would be fine.

The Little Harp Inn, Clevedon

Not sure about the choc jock angle but quite a variable clientele - all ages and types welcome. Beer normally pretty good. Food disappointing for the price. Lovely sun terrace when weather is good - views right across the channel to Welsh mountains.

The Old Inn, Clevedon

Very good beer, excellent fairly priced pub grub and copious range of bar snacks. If it's sunny the garden is great and play area is sufficiently far from tables so kids can play without disturbing beer quaffing parents. Yay!

The Clock Tower, Clevedon

First pub in town with late license. Last owner made valiant attempt at re-styling as "nite spot" but unfortunately calibre of locals means slide back to town-centre boozer inevitable. Beer dodgy, food patchy, locals blue collar lip chewers. Not even Sky Sports to lessen the misery.

The Bristol Inn, Clevedon

Late ninteties-2005 - Succession of temp managers who gave progressively less of a sh1t about maintaining the place or providing a decent service. Gone right down hill to point of becoming charlie sniffing and punch up centre of Clevedon by 2005. Run by rugby "club" losers.

2005 - present - Rejoice! Vastly improved beer, food, decor, staff and pretty much everything down to work of Andy & Dawn and present tenants

The Bristol Inn, Clevedon

87-93 - Landlord "Frosty", good beer (no idea what food was like - skint student), full of jitters and indie types, excellent rock juke box, lots of seperate rooms which allowed you to claim your own corner.

93-97(ish) - Landlord Norman, bit punchy and grumpy but ok. Food and beer ok. Refit demolished most of internal walls giving rise to nasty "aircraft hangar" atomosphere. Jukebox replaced by piped music, beginning of Chav era. Sky Sports!
