The Brown Cow, Keighley

I spent two very enjoyable evenings in the Brown Cow which offers eight different real ales, including Taylor's Landlord (which is all-too-often a mediocre drink these days) in fine condition, along with a genuinely warm reception from both the bar staff and locals.
Much good humour - I'll know where to head next time I'm visiting Keighley.

The Minerva Hotel, Hull

Visited the Minerva in mid-November, late afternoon. Found a quiet pub beside the Humber with a few customers, obviously locals and well-known to the staff. Open fires made for a warm and pleasant atmosphere.
A meal was prepared freshly for me (fish pie - excellent!) and I sampled three real ales, all in fine condition.
I will certainly call again when next in Hull.

The Prince Albert, Ely

Found myself with a spare hour in Ely during a brief visit. Called into the Prince Albert - friendly staff, very friendly locals and a wide range of well-kept real ales.
What a pity that I live about 400 miles away!
