The Railway, Clapham North

Food is pretty good for the price. Lots of my friends like this pub but for some reason I don't share their enthusiasm. It is very smoky and the atmosphere can be a bit strange. The upstairs bar is a better bet.

This pub has now closed! It is currently surrounded by scaffolding and looks like it is being demolished.

The Brixton Bar and Grill, Brixton

I am amazed that this place has been given such bad reviews. I have always felt welcome and found the staff to be very helpful, professional and friendly. I live in Brixton and find this bar to be a real haven. Food is fine, cocktails good, atmosphere lively. It is expensive but I think it is worth it as you almost always get a table and don't have to move from your table to get served. Go with an open mind.
