The Star, Blackpool

Well done Tiger Bills, an iconic pub reopens.
Plenty going on and very friendly and pleasant staff.
I really hope the place makes a big impact on Blackpool as you are triers :-)

Albert, Blackpool

What has happened to this pub. Was closed in 2013 for health and safety reasons, too horrid to describe and then only allowed to re-open if they were inspected on a monthly basis.
Gave it the benefit of the doubt and tried it the other night.
It was 10:20pm and told the bar was shutting so get lost.
Am I a drunken 18 year old snotty kid, no a highly respectable 60 year old man.
If he treats all his customers like that then I'm afraid he won't have them for long.
Do yourself a favour and walk 50 yards down the road to the Auctioneer as I will never darken its door again

Flashmans, Blackpool

Now changed it's name although I can't remember what it has changed to and with the name change it has become a gay friendly bar.

Gillespies, Blackpool

Bit apprehensive after reading the reviews here but tried it out last week.
Such a pleasant surprise, friendly staff, price good especially as it is in the heart of Blackpool town centre. Usual run of the mill drinks available but no issue with it, a pleasure to drink. Ok the décor is due for a spruce up but try the place as I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Washington, Blackpool

Took my grandson aged 17 at 7:15 on a Wednesday evening to this excuse for a pub prior to going to a show to be told 'No children after 7pm'. I explained that he was 17, not a child and only drinking coke to be told rather impolitely to leave the pub.
Something extremely lacking in this pub, staff courtesy, common sense and me as I will never walk through there doors again,

The Auctioneer, Blackpool

Typical Witherspoons. air price for both food and drink even for Blackpool.
Eaten here many times and never been let down.
Pleasant and friendly staff.

The Manchester, Blackpool

If you are more than 30 and have at least 2 brain cells then steer clear of this place. For stags and hens only - need I say more

The Star, Blackpool

Was a top pub, probably the biggest in Blackpool but sadly now closed down and likely to not open again. Owned and killed by the Pleasure, if only they had a couple of brain cells between them they could have made this into a thriving pub, such a shame.

Clarence Hotel, Blackpool

Nice pub, clean, pleasant staff. Beer not cheap but no cheap beer in Blackpool unless you are in the know

Richard John Blackler, Liverpool

This must be the most unfriendly pub pub I have ever walked into in my life.
My son and I went in with 2 of my grandchildren and ordered 2 lagers and 2 glasses of coke and sat at a table and before we could take a breath were told that as we had not ordered a meal we were not allowed to drink there. 'One minute' we said as we hadn't had a chance to look at a menu and were fully intending to have a meal. Meals decided and my son went to the bar, ordered them as well as 2 lagers and 2 cokes again to be told that 2 drinks was the limit with meals when there are children in the party, wonderful (not). While waiting for our meals I went to play on the quiz machine while the grandchildren watched to be told by a member of staff that children were not allowed to play the machines to which I stated that they were not playing the machine I was and the member of staff scowled and stated 'Well make sure they don't'. Meanwhile my son was sitting at the table being pestered by a guy openly selling pirated copies CDs and DVDs which was totally ignored by staff.
Well meals arrived, the burger which one of the grandchildren wanted was fine but the other 3 meals which were all breakfasts were stone cold, absolutely disgusting. I mean how can you get a breakfast wrong.
If this is typical of the hospitality of Wetherspoon's pub in Liverpool I will not be frequenting them any more and treat this as a warning to all families, steer clear of this pub.
