Got barred from here in about 2002. It just seems that urinating in a plant pot isn't acceptable here. Really disappointing.
Seriously though, that was a bit of a low point. The place is very nice and they probably didn't deserve to deal with idiots like us. Been back recently and it's still a nice place. Would recommend.

This place was good to us. Used to be somewhat relaxed with their ID policy which meant at aged 16 in the late 90s you could guarantee a good piss up.
Went back recently and it's changed quite a lot but still seems really pretty decent. Large garden and they had an open mic night on which was a good laugh.

Had an argument with the doorstaff here saying that a good friend of ours was drunk when in fact he hadn't touched a drop of alcohol. Totally bizarre. Would never go back. The police were disgusted and actually suggested that we report them but... eh..
Would not recommend if you're sober.

This is the definition of 'it's not a bad place' which also says it's not an entirely good place either. If you're in the area you can do a lot worse. The staff seem professional and there was a pool table if i remember correctly.
My only criticism is that I felt sick the following day. I blame it on the packet of crisps between the seventeenth and eighteenth pint.

Went here to watch the football this weekend and had the misfortune of seeing the 3 girls behind the bar ridicule a customer because of his accent. They performed mocking impressions of him then looked to us for some kind of sick confirmation that we thought they should be doing that. Made us feel very uncomfortable and the guy seemed genuinely embarrassed.
Really horrible place, the staff should be sacked.
Asides from the staff being utterly unpleasant, the beer was very poor. One of the pints seemed flat and murky which it really shouldn't have been.
The audio on the football was devastatingly loud too, so much so that when the ads came on you could see people visually recoil at the volume. We ended up having to sit outside.
I can't think of a single redeeming factor of this place. Never again.

Went here yesterday and I think it was the manager who served me. It was really great service and i'm surprised to read other people had different experiences from ours. Maybe the other staff aren't as attentive but from what I could tell they were very good.
The food is over priced, but it was ok. I doubt we'd eat there again. The bottled ciders were almost �5 which seems ludicrous.
