The Heron, Limbury Mead

Sorry regarding my last comment, the closed pub in round green was the royal oak, not the tavern.

Rolling Xmas beer under way excellent range as usual and including Xmas Pud, which is probably on as I type this, which means I will miss it!! Cannot praise this place enough, Try it if you have not already, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, or in this case, Drinking!!

Good to hear about the refit, about time as we need a proper pub round here too many carvery and hungry horse types and its a long walk to the black swan. I know the new people and like them a lot, I just hope Punch come through for them

This 2bar pub is open and run by betty, a pleasant Zambian lady. In desperate need of a refurb, but the locals are friendly enough. has big screen sky in public bar, and runs quality DJ's on Friday and saturday evenings. 2 pool tables, no food or real ales

This is my favourite town pub. It is very "village local in town" in style. Stan and Lisa (landlord and landlady )always extend a warm welcome. The Real ales are kept in excellent condition, hence the recent CAMRA awards.
Well used prior to home football, and close enough to the town centre to make it well worth the visit. Currently (Dec 2006) running a rolling beer festival.
I recommend a visit, if you like your ales real.

Steve.
