The Rose and Crown, Shilton

It's been taken over again since the last review and has been redecorated. It has improved massively. Fiendly staff and customers. Pleasant atmosphere, lovely beergarden. Lovely surroundings. Peacefull.
Recommend trying again.

The Masons Arms, Brize Norton

After having a bad experience with the two pubs in Carterton, I discovered that I'd rather go a step further and go here instead.
Cosy, friendly atmosphere. A pub for locals but you don't get stared at, just welcomed.

The Aviator, Carterton

Rough as badgers indeed.
Stood for ages waiting for a drink and just git ignored, this happened on several occasions.
Dirty glasses and sticky carpet.

The Beehive, Carterton

Mediocre pub. It gets business because the other pub in the town is worse.
Very unfriendly atmosphere.

Rose Revived, Newbridge

It used to be nicer but has gone downhill as it's got seemingly more popular. It has all the comfort and beer garden is pleasant but the soul has gone.

Nortons Cafe Bar, Witney

Awful. Looks dirty. Clientel look a little chavvy and could do with going into rehab. Scary place.

The Eagle Tavern, Witney

Lovely pub. Good beer.

The Angel Inn, Witney

Anon says - not suitable for women. He means not suitable for jibby horses. It does look like a bloke pub but the ales are kepted well and taste gorgeous. You can also get a pint jug if you want, great.

The Fleece, Witney

It looks nice. Pleasant atmosphere but on the whole it is overpriced and unimpressive. It is striving to be upmarket but doesn't quite make it.

The Plough, Witney

This is my favourite pub in Witney. It is a good old fashioned pub but not spit and sawdust, friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Lovely beergarden, fire indoors. Refurbished tastefully but not overdone or crowded. My favourite bits about the pub is the fact that it has no television(why would you in a pub?) so you can go there when there is a football match on and talk to other people not suffering from football mania.
Oh I suppose the important thing I missed was to mention the beers. Lovely ales on tap. Land lord also buys mead from a local supplier, how brilliant is that. The crisps are thick and gorgoeus but I believe there is a restaurant soon to be opening. Live mike night is on Tuesdays.
You'll get no trouble here!
