The Chequers Inn, Battle

Our first visit here for over a year, still a pleasant pub but dining is definitely a less enjoyable experience, bland is the word that springs to mind, the pub seems to lack identity at the moment and has some less than salubrious clientele.

Generally ok but the cleaner needs sacking, dust everywhwre.

Good beer but poor food, definiely a case of quantity over quality, not a bad pub but a dreadful location.

The Rainbow Trout, Broad Oak

I don't know where the chef of the highest standard was when we visited two weeks ago, hard veg, lifeless wilting salad, tasteless steak and horrible lumpy sauce! maybe it was his day off and the stand in couldn't be bothered, top that off with the fact that the food is overpriced and you have the end result of 2/10 in other words don't bother.
