The Amersham Arms, New Cross

Great menu, expensive crap beer. Nice in the daytime before it gets too loud.

The Golden Cock, Farnley Tyas

Now fully recovered from being a wine bar, the locals are allowed in again and good beer has returned.

Thankfully, restaurant has remained. The menu is excellent, and specials sometimes include local produce.

Good beer, find out whats going on in the village, and get a good meal!

The Head of Steam, Huddersfield

This is about at good as a pub gets: Great beer, comfortable, chatty customers with a great attitude.

The Whey Pat Tavern, St Andrews

Good selection of beer that changes frequently---always worth a visit. Nice relaxed atmosphere (no music).

The Westport, St Andrews

Expensive and no beer on pump. However,
the large variety of cocktails appear to be competently made.

The clientle seem to be the young and trying to be trendy sort (Topman must be doing good trade).

If I was still young and camp it would be great!

Central, St Andrews

Three nice beers on pump and a selection of whisky.

The food is the sort that would be appropriate for the tomato & HP sauce bottles on the tables. Its fairly priced, and looks and tastes good.

Typical sort of size for St Andrews, and there is plenty of room at the large bar which occupies the centre of the pub. Nice atmosphere, no music.

Aikmans / The Cellar Bar, St Andrews

Great range of lagers and beers: everyone should be happy with the beer here. Some of the guest beers are from smaller breweries, so be prepared to take pot luck.

The downstairs bar may be too smokey (and hot) for some.
