The Magpie and Crown, Brentford

I have to say, we have a madman in our midst: Jeweller John - Slags off The Beehive several times, and then he says..And I qoute: ' Great beer and food-well worth a visit!' Maybe a touch of memory loss there John, or is the old alkie-symers kicking in? The Beehive might not be up to much, but it most definitely does not deserve the rude, nasty comments that this person seems to be posting. Same goes for The Magpie, which has recently undergone extensive re-decoration, and is a very pleasant pub to be in, and the Thai home-cooked food is delicious. Steve the Landlord has his moments ( don't we all ) - But the beer and cellar are in 1st class condition, as is the public bar, & there are an excellent range of ever-changing real ales to satisfy the thirsty punter, not forgetting the wonderful selection of imported lagers and Fruli fruit beer. Need I say more..

The best and safest way to experience this place is from the comfort and safety of a bus, passing by at high speed.

The Beehive, Brentford

Was in there a while ago. It's ok if you are slightly half cut when you go in but i wouldn't want to go in there sober and start from scratch. Generally friendly atmosphere. The regulars are fine, and the staff are nice. The beer is good, overall but the one thing i found a bit of a problem was the stench coming from the area by the door that leads to the toilets. All in all a pleasant evening.
