well what can you say about this place it is gaudy , and full of sad individuals who are so incestuios that even the Mice have club feet!!. The clientelle are the most sad people I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. There is a skinny bald headed man who sits in the corner by the stairs to the loos who is so reminescant of Gollum from Lord of the rings he behaves as if he owns the place, and I believe he used to, but has not got a pot to piss in now. The place has a very bad reputation for the way it treats its staff, both alive and dead!!.I would not reccomend a visit unless you want have your life become the property of the Vultures who use it on a regular basis.

Aphrodite!! I have been looking at other Pub reviews that you post on this site, and I have to say that if your experience of your local pubs is so bad and your enjoyment of them is so bad I have to question why you come to visit us at all!!!
I hope you dont mind if I make a suggestion. Why dont you stay at home, and be bitter and twisted there? I hear Sainsburys do some good deals on booze, and I think you should take advantage of those deals. I say this because you obviously have too much time on your hands making comments and lies about Bars that work hard to provide a safe, pleasant, and legal form of hospitality. I hope you take this advice as I find your negativity so boring.

Hi. I would like to answer the last comment made by aphrodite . I am around the Pub all day long, and also if you were stupid enough to make what I remember to be false and derogitory remarks whilst standing in front of the Pub, then I think that you deserved to be barred. If my memory serves me well I have only barred 2 people for making comments outside the Pub and they were making threats with regard to the false rumour that I had sacked one of my staff, which to be honest was none of their concern even if it was true. So the answer is simple if you want to know something then ask , and maybe learn to keep your mouth shut until you find out the truth. May I also add that if you come from the Posh end of Town why is your spelling so bad?

I would like to say that since the new Manager has taken over THIS PUB HAS CHANGED a great deal. The review that says that if "you visit this Pub you will leave in an ambulance" is no longer applicable,he has cleaned out this pub with great effect, and nearly all of the aforementioned "Idiots" are nowhere to be seen. The bar is now focused on a family environment with Children welcome untill the early evening, The food is as good as it has always been,it is well presented and well worth the money. I hope this change will prove to be the making of the Pub, as it is a nice Bar with a much more relaxed atmosphere.

The Gun Tavern, Croydon
Well folks this pub has a new Manager, and the cobwebs have gone!! The place although not refurbished is CLEAN and you can use the loos without a gas mask. they are having a refurb in the near future. there is at least 2 really well kept real ales. The pub has improved and you are welcomed on arrival. Live music every other week and Karaoke on the second week. Function room for your weddings and christenings. A small garden for a smoke in the summer.
I must say the new Manager has the right approach, he treats everyone the same ( no favourites) please fell free to visit and make yourselves known. he wont bite!!!
