Probably used to be a nice place years ago, certainly had a lot of money spent on it on a refurb but its a dump! Full of chavy types with red faces(full of stella) smelling of cannabis and on the edge of trouble, a very bad atmosphere too. Pity but there you go.

What a weird place. Felt like I was in a 1960s social club. Busy little place on a Wednesday night, Rock and roll jam session. Weird people including some old guy trying to breakdance to 1950s song Walking the dog. People sitting at tables with their home made sausage rolls and mince pies in Baco foil.

Dont often get to this place but like to see a band occasionaly. First thing that struck me was from about 11 oclock at night they go cleaning crazy,mop and bucket out and buffer too.Im not being harsh but if I go out in the evening for a drink I dont want to be reminded my flat needs cleaning, that sort of stuff should be after everyone has gone.Also been told they serve until one, but tonight it was last drink at five past twelve. Heard a guy say he just finished work at eleven and got a taxi from the other side of the city for that reason, stick to your hours please, its not fair!

Hello Ed, I havent been in recently but looked in the door and it does look a bit cleaner than I remember it. Pity though they didnt clean up their clientel though, same old Im afraid and I know that for a fact as Saturday afternoon I was shopping in Magdalen street with my children and there were a few idiots outside the front door with their pints of stella, shouting abuse at nice people. Do normal people have to tolerate that kind of stuff? think the landlord needs to open his eyes a bit wider.

Hi again, well the Cat and Fiddle is still a dump, about 2% tidier if that maybe, but the usual dodgy customers in tow. And Ed, the reason why we went back to check it after your review was we were amazed that someone could give it a decent review as you did, not because we like it.It might help if they removed the dirty curtains from the windows so that people could look in and see how "different" it is now. Having them closed all day just means you have something to hide.

An ok place to go if you want a later drink, saying that you cant plan your evening by this place by what time its open til. If the landlord is in a good mood say Tuesday night he will be open til two,if not closes just after one{even though you rang up that evening and he said two}Most the time he is a miserable bastard, but hes got a good juke box

Hi Ed, you must have been in a really good mood when you gave the review for this dump, or mistaken it for the fat cat? The place is dodgy, dirty, scruffy with Some of norwichs unfortunates and undesirables as customers. Dont go unless you are a sucker for trouble

Whatever is said about this place I was very impressed with their two meals for �5.49. Great value,tasted ok and pleasant staff

The Farmhouse, Norwich
Ive lived in Norwich for ten years and The farmhouse has gone from bad to terrible in that time. I fyou want to get bashed up or have an evening with tables flying over your head this was the place. Police here every week over violence etc. but has recently got "friendly new management" not sure what that means, either means we are nice come in and check us out or we are nice and we are soft? Cant wait til The Romany the pub up the road comes on here, that will be interesting reading.........
