I've been going to the boundary since Lou took it over in december and cannot recommend it highly enough! excellent sunday lunch, the real ale is kept well (I've been a camra member for 12 years and i know the difference!), friendy staff and decent events/bands! also over £3,500 raised for charity this year by the regulars! I know the pub has a reputation,(more than 5 different landlords in 2 years before Lou took it over) but she knows how to run a pub and many bikers drink there now and this has helped calm down the chav element, some "chav" like folks drink there but they're the decent sort and are not the kind of folks to start trouble! If you're in norwich come and visit, you'll be made welcome! Dodge_666 - 25 Jul 2008 04:37
Called in last Friday and seemed to have been a big imp rovement, but on the other hand it couldn't really have got much worse. looks like a lot of the dense chav brigade have been chucked out, not before time. Band was good. If it stays like this I can see me and my friends using it more often. angelacorby - 2 Mar 2008 20:25
What a transformation. I have lived in the locale for 5 years now and used to frequent the Boundary on a regular basis, however changes of licencees and patrons deterred me from visiting and I changed hostelries. However, I was advised by a friend that there had been a change of Licencee, and things were looking up. On my first visit I was made to feel welcome and felt as if I had known these people (Lou & Mac) for years, it was as if I had never been way. The beer is kept perfect, the bar room banter is excellent, this is just a nice place to meet and drimk. So if you've been away for a while it is well worth a look. stuart62 - 14 Feb 2008 10:27
Hi - My name is Lou, myself and my partner have just purchased the lease and am only too aware of the problems which The Boundary has had in the past, however in just one month there has been a massive change to the pub. We have a great team behind the bar, and the atmosphere has changed dramatically. We have doormen at the weekend, and have taken a strong line against drugs, troublemakers and underage drinking. We have introduced real ales, and will be starting food at the end of the month. Pool teams, darts teams, and quizzes planned for weeknights, with live music and charity events at weekends. Please check out local press to see what's on, because we've got some of the best bands in Norwich, and if you give the pub a second chance, I'm sure you will be pleasantly suprised. Children on leads (until 8pm) and well behaved dogs welcome. We operate a strict policy of age verification - if you are lucky enough to appear under 21, you will be asked for identification to prove that you are over 18. Lou_Wilding - 17 Jan 2008 21:45
Probably used to be a nice place years ago, certainly had a lot of money spent on it on a refurb but its a dump! Full of chavy types with red faces(full of stella) smelling of cannabis and on the edge of trouble, a very bad atmosphere too. Pity but there you go. poppi - 28 Nov 2007 23:20
