The Hand and Flower, Ham

RE: matthew of ham's comment on 16th October

"b) it would have meant trying to attract the staff's attention when they were far too busy talking to each other. Not impressed."

surely you would not prefer staff to stand in silence whilst you drink? when i go to a pub i would much rather friendly staff who talk than those who stand and watch you drink..that would make for a much worse atmosphere surely!

P.S.

"I could have complained but a) I do not go out to complain, I go out to enjoy myself "

i beg to differ; it seems you go out primarily to pick faults in things, and post it up on the internet. would hardly call that 'enjoying myself', but each to their own i suppose

The Cavern, Raynes Park

brilliant pub. amazing jukebox which creates a great atmosphere along with the memorabilia on the walls. the bar staff are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. enjoy spending many an evening in here.

The Druid's Head, Kingston Upon Thames

lovely pub with interesting layout. small 'snug' rooms and alcoves to sit in if you're in a big group. had a sunday lunch here a few weeks ago which was very cheap and very nice as well. also does very good tapas food.
if my sources are reliable i also believe this is the oldest pub in kingston, dating back to the 16/1700s?
