The Horse and Groom, St Leonards on Sea

Lovely little pub - tucked out of the way. Friendly welcome and four real ales on tap - all in good condition. Will definitely be back there next time I go to St Leonards

The Stag, Hastings

Popped in on Saturday lunchtime - pretty quiet - lovely atmospheric pub and a great beer garden out at the back set in tiers against a pretty steep hill.

Excellent choice of 5 ales - only problem was the 3.30 per pint for a pub that is by no means centrally located.

The Plough and Harrow, Litlington

Visited this lovely pub in the heart of Sussex countryside last week. Excellent food had the ham hock braised in white wine for 4 hours and served with a piquant cheese sauce and mash. Every bit as delicious as it sounds. Hophead and two Harveys (Best and Armada) on tap. Landlord cheerful and pub full of happy punters. One definitely going out of the way for.

The Cinque Port Arms, Hastings

Lovely, friendly, cosy boozer .... mostly locals ... Slightly spoilt by the rugby as not huge sports fan ... but great service courtesy of lovely barmaid and Harvey's was excellent.

No food on at the moment because neighbours are complaining about the proposed fan / trunking for the re-furbed kitchen.

Still, very much worth a detour to search it out.

The Dolphin Inn, Hastings

Have to agree with GrahamH that you get the feel the landlord really is making an effort. Food looked and smelt great (will try next time) and great beer with a selection of 4 hand pulled - 2 of which were Dark Star.
