I have spent many a late afternoon in here with work colleagues when visiting the West End.
I have always found the staff very friendly and helpful and the drinks have always been decent.
I once witnessed an old soak been ejected for lighting up inside which was quite amusing.
A perfect place for a couple of pints before you head off home from work.

The Uxbridge Arms, Notting Hill
really nice traditional pub just off the main road
good service and good beers
obviously full of regulars but friendly

great pub for sports on tv and a late night drink
seems to be open until 12 o clock every night
good staff and a nice mix of clientele - locals,tourists and shopfitters all seem to mix well

Bad news
Sign on hoarding gives notice of application to open a bar/restaurant on the site
One of my favourite London pubs looks destined to become just a happy memory

used to go in this pub a few years ago
walked past yesterday and it has closed down
no signs or notices about a refit or reopening so we will have to wait and see

The Monk and Fisherman, Southend on Sea
Pub has now been replaced by a shop
Even though it was a bit rough i always enjoyed a pint in here when travelling to Southend

I agree with a lot of the comments
I am not sure what it is trying to be now.Used to live on Sutherland Avenue and would often pop in on the way home for a game of pool or to play on the quiz machines.The layout now doesnt make any sense the pub bit is like a waiting area to go into the restaurant.Very disappointing.

Excellent pub.Used to work on Oxford street and often came to sit outside and enjoy a pint or two.Good friendly service and ice cold Stella on tap.A bit out of the way but well worth the trip

The Old Maypole, Ilford
A sizzling pub that looks good on the internet but not so good when you visit.Basically a rough locals pub that is probably good for the regulars but not for newcomers.Not child friendly and not a pub to go for a meal with your family.
