The Grapes, Limehouse

yes a real East London gem, it's a real find so close to Canary Wharf. small but perfectly formed, it pays to get their early for a sunday roast. Not only are the beers good, but they have a decent wine list as well. All too often a rarity!

A place to visit again and again

The Railway Tavern, Limehouse

a hot bed of gritty rock and roll action. spot the up and coming London muso's as they hang out between rehearsals and gigs in this funky East london dive.

it's crap but that's the point.

The Change of Horses, Farnborough

This is my work local and I have to say I rate the place highly. Good fish and chips, perfectly adequate selection of beers. It's spacious with a good sized beer garden. Most of all it has a quiet relaxed feel which makes it more like a country pub than a suburban London one. 4 visits so far and all fine.

The Camel & Artichoke, Waterloo

Adequate facilities for an antipodean sportsbar, but the staff are barely out of nappies and are rude and totally hopeless. why go here when there are plenty of places on the same street that are much better?
