The City Arms, Manchester

this was the last pub of our crawl. 8 real ales on which were ok but not exellent. good feature pub and very small. Seems to be a pub for regulars as the staff only seemed intrested in them. Good all round pub. its definatley a mans pub.

The Vine Inn, Manchester

What you see is what you get here. Good boozer with good ale. Timothy Taylor Landlord and Hobgoblin. We all had Taylors which was in fine form.
The landlady was great (What a laugh she has..) her laugh made us laugh..
Graet boozer keep up the hard work.

The Ape and Apple, Manchester

A Holts pub... ok very cheep, just over 2 a pint. the staff looked a bit tired, as if they couldnt be bothered, The ale was ok and a couple of us had the mild which was ok. this place was full of old men in there 70's. I suppose they need to wach there pennies!! nothing special here but would go back.

The Rising Sun, Manchester

What a gem of a place. As we came out the back of Old nags head we saw the Rising Sun. It looks like a garage so we had to go in.
As we all walked through a tiny passage the bar just opens up, its quite impressive as it only looks small from the outside.
An exellent rage of beers and real cider on here.
Hop back brewery's summer lighting, Leeds brewery's Samba, Timothy Taylor's Landlord, Moorhouse brewery's Blonde Witch, and Bank Top Brewery's Flat cap.
Every single ale was perfect. crystal clear. Posters covered the wall advertising the fact that Rising Sun is in the Good Beer Guide. (And so it should be)
This place shows all sports and its a very nice place for couples can go, as no idiots were in here.
The staff were very chatty and we had a good laugh, the landlord was a right laugh too. There are signed pictures from Mike Tyson, Ken Norton & Ernie shavers above the bar. It was a pleasure to dink in here, certificates cover the front of the bar for there exellent real ales. We stayed in here for over an hour but the pub crawl must go on. shame :(

The Old Nag's Head, Manchester

Called in here after the The Sir Ralph Abercromby on our manchester pub crawl on Saturday. As we were all real ale drinkers, we were hopeing to find a large selection of fine real ales, as the pub is massive. we got to the bar and all they had on was Theakstons. It didnt tase nice as we all agreed. The pub itself is very old fashened and a nice layout but it needs some TLC. It seems they just concentrate on keg lagers / bitters.
Karaoke advertised outside at weekends, thats not my cup of tea. but nevermind. The staff could of been a bit more chatty and they could of smiled a bit more but you cant have everything..... Next pub

The Sir Ralph Abercrombie, Manchester

Good little pub, well worth a visit. Timothy Taylors, Landlord, Black sheep Best bitter & Copper Dragon Best bitter on handpulls. All were great. Its been a long time since ive been in manchester and I do like what they have done to this place. I bit of money has been spent here. Its nice now and your feet no longer stick to the floor. The staff were very polite with very quick service. Its a nice place to take your wife / or your bit on the side......

Good all round pub.
