The Catherine Wheel, Henley-On-Thames

Went here whilst at the 80's rewind festival, the first time was on the Friday afternoon, did seem quite dark inside but we sat out. Carlsberg cheaper than Fosters thank goodness. They open at 7am each day for breakfasts, Saturday was fine but a tad understaffed, I don't think they realised how many peeps would go there, especially after 9!! Sunday, well, more staff but we didn't get there till about 1045, although we got a table quick same with ordering, we waited an hour for our nosh, I think they'd run out of plates & cups! On the plus side, a very nice filling brekkie & well worth the price.

The Old Bell, Henley-on-Thames

Damn, wrong pub!!! This one we went into on the Friday pm, drank up & left. Not a place for non regulars I don't think. Man behind the bar served a reg before us although we'd been stood at the bar for a couple of mins whilst he finished serving before the reg came in! NOT a very nice welcome to Henley!!!!

The Old Swan, The Lee

We've recently come here often, great peeps, garden etc, although yet to eat. What we have seen of the food going out looks fab, well worth a visit. They make you feel very welcome & there's none of that kind of 'clique' thing going on at all, which you can get in some local pubs! Excellent!!

Oh dear!! My Mum worked here about, blimey, 25-30 years ago & it had some pretty cool regs coming in, we only lived a couple of doors down the road, mind you, these reviews are a few years old now! Never realised there were a few dodgy geezers around, but then, I was only young!! Am going to pay a visit tomorrow as it happens with my Dad & my Husband, in memory of my Mum that passed away this June.

The White Lion, St Leonards

Hmmm..... Another country pub gone downhill recently.. I come from Kent & very ocasionally come to the Chilterns to 'ramble' or whatever, even stay with local family.. Anyway, have been here in the last few weeks & it was hideous!! they even had run out of lager!! Don't quite know what is happening here, but please, sort it out before you have no customers at all! & local pubs NEED customers especially in this day & age!! Shame the last lady (again apparently) has gone elsewhere....

The Bull, Bellingdon

Well, it seems the other peeps have moved on... To the popular pub called The White Lion in St. Leonards! Have been back to the Bull since their departure from here & the beer/lager is GREAT!! & they have it in stock!! Can't comment about the food as we've not eaten, but very soon we will & then I'll let you know all!! Much better now, here's waiting for the summer when there'll be lots of peeps & their kids in the garden. Bravo for making a once popular pub that went to rubbish in no time, now into an up-coming pub again!! YIPPEE!!

The Nags Head, Amersham

Went here many years ago with friends, only had 4 pints at other pubs in total, came here, had a pint, went for a P then remembered nothing after!! I SWEAR someone spiked me lager, thank f**k it's now shut!! Awful horrid place, shame, I was born in Amersham in 1966. Just up the road where you can't be born now! LOLOL!!

The Full Moon, Hawridge Common

I couldn't believe it when they asked for 6.20 for 2 pints of lager! (VERY much more than a pre-pack from Sainsbury's or Tesco's)!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only bog-standard Fosters or Carlsberg, NOT the usually more expensive!! (Dread to think how much THAT was)! Not our usual pub, but like other peeps, had been past a few times previous & saw lots of others in the garden, so thought we would give it a try. Sadly, when we'd seen peeps there before, it was quite a long time before we tried it & apparently their 'old' Chef had left & after that they put their prices up & have heard since that even the food wasn't as good, but can't comment on that as we've never eaten there before.. Very sad at that, a great pub, good atmosphere, seems like quite a few locals, but at that lager price?? I think not again. Shame.

The Bull, Bellingdon

Awful lager & beer, had a real bad gut after drinking there on our way through. I think maybe the lines aren't cleaned regular, lager tasted very odd, it really wasn't drinkable. Not sure about the food situation, we've never eaten there although have been there a few times in recent years & have seen the odd person eating. Seems the 'old' landlord has moved on to another local pub & has apparently taken his regulars with him. Won't be visiting there again in a hurry.
