The Crown Inn, Askrigg

This is an excellent unpretentious pub.

I stayed there during the week whilst doing the Inn Way. The Theakstons Best was superb and great home made steak pie in huge portions.

A proper pub!

Buck Inn, Buckden

this used to have a great reputation but sadly it's gone down hill, the beer is fine the food is awful.

The Blue Bell Inn, Kettlewell

Well I've just come from staying at Kettlewell whilst doing the Inn Way and the Bluebell was a disgrace.

The beer was ok - the Golden Pippin very nice - but the food was appalling. Lamb hot pot served with leeks in two tiny dishes, I think the chef was trying it on and trying to make it go as far as possible - let us still feeling very hungry which after a 14 mile walk was not on. A complete rip off - avoid!

The Grey Horse, Elvington

Glad you all enjoyed this - it's my local and the beer is always good with plenty of guests.

The Queens Arms, Litton

I have to agree with the below review - it isn't value for money and for what you pay you think you are going to get something worth the money.

The beer is fine but the food average and over priced. The landlord always seemed to be in a rush to be off somewhere and wasnt particularly chatty.

I think they are just cashing in on the location which is beautifil. The home brew is good so my suggestion is just pop in for a pint only and you will be ok.

Otherwise I wouldn't go back either.

The George Hotel, Castleton

This is a marvelous pub, hasn't been poncified, good ale and really nice wholesome food.

The rabbit pie was tremendous.

A great pub!

Bulls Head Hotel, Castleton

Sorry a bit too poncified for me but it's all down to personal taste. I don't like any pub where you can't just sit down and have a pint and order some grub if you want to.

But it's a personal thing.

The Castle Hotel, Hope Valley

The food is standard pub fayre - reasonably priced and for soaking beer.

The beer was very good and service friendly. A decent pub in my view.
