Popped in for a pint on a crawl round Castleton. Four ales from Robinson's were available. Like most Castleton pubs, it was geared up for food inside, but had a pleasant outdoor area out the back with views across to Mam Tor and Hollins Cross. Seemed pleasant enough, without being particularly excellent in any way. twohalves - 10 Jul 2011 16:55
Stayed there on Monday evening.Small room for the price but then again it was in the touristy area.Had a meal in the restaurant which was fabulous.Menu was excellent! The real ale consisted of three local ales and they were very agreeable.Breakfast was very good as were the views from the rooms.Worth staying if you can verify the booking!! sweeties1975 - 19 Sep 2009 23:57

Sorry a bit too poncified for me but it's all down to personal taste. I don't like any pub where you can't just sit down and have a pint and order some grub if you want to. But it's a personal thing. lambertsimnel - 21 Apr 2009 10:20
