The Ford Inn, Holmfirth

I've been to this pub today and it was awful - had three beers; I tried theakstons XB and bitter and both were awful and had to be returned. Food was very overpriced and very average. Notable lack of patrons who obviously know better - AVOID

The Royal Oak, Linthwaite

Landlady is friendly. Real ale is in ok condition. Pub survives on the "watch sky free here" crowd. If that's what floats your boat you'll enjoy, otherwise go to the sair which is 5 mins away.

Th'Alma, Linthwaite

Souless bar, over run with kids. Avoid.

The Nook, Holmfirth

Unfortunately a pub very much on the decline. The beer was, as always, excellent, but the pub itself has become very shabby and is in need of a lick of paint. There's a line between original decor and being grubby. The jukebox is overpowering ( and I say that as a fan of jukeboxes in pubs ) and the pool room seems to be the main focus of the pub and staff. This place is very much living of it's reputatio.

The Tunnel End Inn, Marsden

Excellent real ale, real food pub. Perfectly positioned for walking on the National Trust owned Marsden Moor. Plenty of outdoor seating for those sunny Yorkshire days.

The Sair Inn, Linthwaite

excellent local pub for local people, the beer is world class as is the lay out of the pub with various rooms and open fires. A must for any real ale lover and you can take your dog along too!
