The Horse and Hound, Broadway

Beer ok. Only 3 engines and to be honest only 4 customers on a Tuesday night at 8pm when all other pubs in village very busy. The pub states that food available until 9pm. we tried to order at 8.30 but were told that they had stopped serving. Met a couple of friendly locals but could easily give the pub a miss next time

The Crown and Trumpet Inn, Broadway

Beautiful village location for an unspoilt typically English Pub run bt a quintisentially English landlord for whom nothing was too much trouble. This man is passionate and knowlegable about his range of beers which ranged from TT Landlord via 2x Hook Norton seasonal brews through to a range of beers from the local Stanway brewery. We found the food to be a bit on the expensive side for what you got but to be honest the whole area seemed quite expensive in comparison to other areas of the country we have visited.

The Ship, Exeter

Pretty uninspiring Greene King Pub. Bar staff quality poor unless asking for a white wine spritzer is an unusual request When we explained what it was the drink turned up in a glass with lipstick around the rim. A pint is usually served to the 1 pint mark. I had to get it topped.Didnt bother to order food as i did not think it would turn up before closing time. Atmosphere missing, presumed lost!!

The Red Lion, Blue Town

An oasis on an island lacking in real ale. Choice of two/three ales all turning regularly. Good chice of guest ales as chosen by the in house beer committee. Well worth a visit.
