Went there on a busy Friday night with a good old bit of chavi-oake playing.
Was an entertaining crowd with an older edge to it.
the ale was good and price was reasonable.
this pub holds a lot of history if you make the effort to read some of the odds and ends on the walls.
Can't comment on the food.
Staff were friendly.

Worth a visit if passing. Nice, but pricey pint of Titanic. Near the cathedral.

Expensive slightly dissapointing pub right in the city centre near to the cathedral. Not bad for a quick visit on a saturday night pub crawl
Tourist prices though 6/10

If you want to pay £7.95p. for a lump of batter and a small bag of chips on a chopping board, this is the place to go!! I was absolutely disgusted with the meal which was advertised outside the pub as "Lovely Battered Cod". What I received was a piece of batter which had obviously been re-heated at least once, until the fish inside had been fried to, (literally) a tasteless crisp, and a small paper bag containing about ten or twelve small chips!!! NEVER AGAIN! There was no offer of a refund, just an "I'll inform the chef" from the waitress.
