We tried to do a walk from the Fox and Hounds in Barley which was not currently a going concern so we stopped off here on the way back. Tiny but cosy living room bar and I had an excellent Highwayman IPA from Buntingford direct from the cask. My wife had a very nice chilean merlot, and there was a good atmosphere with locals and a real fire. The menu looked interesting, with rabbit curry and venison but we didn't eat so I couldn't attest to the quality. Be interested to return and find out though

Tried to do a pub walk from here on Sunday and it was closed and under offer

The Watermill Inn, Ings
Went here after doing the Kentmere Horseshoe and it was perfect. Cracking Ale and a great selection and a good mix of other walkers with their dogs. Perfect end to a rewarding if tiring day. Well worth a trip
