The Haymaker Inn, Wadeford

Oh dear!

Visited the pub for the first time since 2005 ( It's a little far away as we emigrated to Australia).

What a disappointment.

It used to be full of local characters, and served a menu that was worthy of a 30 mile round trip from our old home in Honiton.

Now, I'm afraid it is a typical pub group pub, but rather dreary pub grub.

Some of the staff are friendly though!

The Parchment Makers, Havant

Went into Parchies for the first time in ages. I was amazed at the improvements. Yes it's still a Wetherspoons, so good quality, cheap food and beer. But the biggest improvement seems to be the staff - they smile! They chat to you! They give you the right change! Food was really tastey and served very quickly. As the last poster said - it's a town centre pub - but unlike so many homogenised town watering holes, this place has character, a great pint and some lively characters for that most traditional of English pub visits - banter. I'll be back soon!
